Donations Press Release: August 15 2011

“Donations handover ceremony at DHQ Gilgit: Honored guests included the Minister of Health, the Chief Secretary and the Secretary of Health Gilgit-Baltistan. The hospitals designated to receive donated items include DHQ Gilgit, Gilgit City Hospital, DHQ Chilas, DHQ Astore and DHQ Gahkuch. We send our best wishes to each hospital, its staff and patients and look forward to facilitating additional donations for Gilgit-Baltistan in the years to come.

On behalf of Chenar Consultancy Firm, Nurul-ain-Jan Baigal, Emma Varley and Abdul Wadood Myireh extend sincere thanks to the following organizations and individuals for their generous donation of medical supplies, equipment and pharmaceuticals worth Rs 26 crore to the Government of Gilgit-Baltistan.

Pharmaceutical Supplies were kindly provided by: Universal Aide Society, METAD, World Children’s Fund, Amstel Farma.

Medical Equipment and Supplies were kindly provided by: Hands of Hope, Universal Aide Society, CHF-Hoffnung Für Kinder (GGMBH), Compassion Ministries.

Port Charges, Customs Clearance & Transport Support were graciously funded by: Dr Katrin Gratz, Iram and Eliza Weiser, Tim and Orian Hutton, Elizabeth Varley, Christopher Varley and Sandra Shaul, Human Concern International (Pakistan), Pakistan Development Fund (University of Toronto at Scarborough), NATCO, Kamil Raise Baigal, Gilgit-Baltistan Volunteer Movement (GBVM).
